Vegan shoes and accessories
In keeping with AHIMSA (do no harm) and vegetarianism, you might consider using less leather and wool in your life -- there are lots of good, comfortable synthetic alternatives now.
Designer Stella McCartney produces cruelty free vegan shoes and so do many other companies. Last winter I was admiring vegan snow boots at the new Whole Foods downtown on the Bowery.

Thank you for this, Lee! A friend of mine calls leather 'hairless fur'... now THERE'S something to think about, eh?!
I think also that a lot of people don't don't realise how much the dairy & beef industry are intertwined, & how they very much depend on the by-product industry. Every time we chose cruelty-free we are making a powerful statement! Lucky for us, there are myriad of websites to lead us in the right direction to becoming ethically conscious consumers.
