Pet Safety on Halloween
My lovely friend Kamaniya (the chanting goddess) sent me an email reminding me to post something about keeping your pets safe on Halloween.
Please keep your pets safely locked in a bedroom (with a light on) where they won't be scared by strange people dressed in costumes coming to your home. Keeping them safely locked in a bedroom also prevents your pet from being able to bolt out your front door when you open the door for trick or treaters.
Don't leave your animals outside on Halloween night. It is just asking for trouble. Every year, pets are deliberately harmed -- burned, stabbed, tortured, poisoned -- on Halloween night. Black cats in particular are at risk. Keep ALL your pets safely inside the house.
Dont let your pets get into the Halloween candy. Sugar overload is no good for you, and it's no good for our furry friends.
Check out Kamaniya's blogsite -- she has even more information on her blog.
